why do so many people compare marine boot camp to special ops training?

by admin on February 12, 2012

every day, people ask, “which is harder, marine boot camp, or BUD/s?” seriously? you’re taking entry level training and stacking it against training few people even pass? sorry for this rant.

Your average American civilian is oblivious about the military! All they see to compare is from the media, movies, TV, tabloids, etc…

You can blame movies like “The Marine,” as well as some video games for that. While the popular opinion is that they have the hardest initial entry training, some people assume that it extends to their IET being as hard or even harder than Special Operations training. Nine times out of ten, they assume that Marines trained in Force Recon got all their training just from Boot Camp.
