You will take periodic psychical tests during BMT. However before you get to BMT you must meet the fitness requirements at MEPS.
I’m not 100 % positive , but I’m army and you have to take PT tests every so often… at first you only have to be able to do 3 push ups and run the mile in 10:30…I’m sure they will help you pass it..unless you are totally not physically fit and unable to improve.
you take a PHYSICAL exam before you go, they check things
like eyes, ears, nose, throat, testicles (for hernia).
Generally you have to be in the weight range BEFORE you can enlist and go to boot camp, although you might get a waiver if your only a few pounds over the limit.
Once you get to basic they will give you blood tests and a eye exam and fit you for glasses if you need them. You will also get lots of vaccinations.
yes
The best thing to do is lose the 20 pounds before you attempt to go to MEPS. Reason being because not only will they probably weigh you but they also may do a BMI check on you & if you don’t pass then they send you back home until you lose the weight needed to enlist. If the Navy takes you the way you are then you will have one heck of a problem at boot camp so now is the time to get in good physical shape. Also a good idea if you want to lose weight is to talk with your recruiter & see if there are any fellow DEP (Delayed Entry Program) applicants that are working out so you can join them. If there are then this would be a great opportunity to join in on the exercises which will get you ready for boot camp.
LOSE it is spelled with ONE letter O.
you must be within weight standards before you can ship. there are several fitness assessments.. at MEPS, In DEP, when you first arrive at Great Lakes, at least one during Boot camp and then the final one that you must pass in order to graduate.
